Do They Look Like Me?

This series examines how the absence and concealment of family photographs alters our understanding of identity and belonging. When images are missing, incomplete, or hidden, they leave gaps in how we see ourselves and those who came before us. In confronting the photographs my mother once withheld, I’ve found space for empathy and forgiveness, recognizing that silence, too, becomes part of what is passed down.
